"The Day of the Locust" (1975) is an American film based on the book of the same name by Nathanael West. It is set in Hollywood just before WWII. The film follows a group of Hollywood bottom-feeders going about their lives until one of them snaps and kills a child. The film includes several bizarre vignettes, like a child doing a Mae West impression and a dwarf caressing an injured rooster.
