After a rocky start, Sheriff Mark Lamb's team of undercover participants are settling into jail life at the Pinal County Detention Center. In 60 Days In Season 6 Episode 4 titled Program in Peril, the sheriff is forced to make difficult decisions as tensions rise inside the facility.
The episode opens with the introduction of the final participant, Heather, who is a mother of two and a corrections officer from a neighboring county. She joins the three other participants who are already embedded in different units of the jail.
As the weeks go by, the participants continue to struggle with the harsh realities of life behind bars. One of them, Donovan, is threatened by a gang member who accuses him of being a snitch. Donovan must weigh the risks of reporting the issue to the guards against the potential consequences of staying silent.
Meanwhile, another participant, Jennifer, is struggling with her decision to go undercover. She becomes emotional and vulnerable as she reveals to her fellow inmates that she is a mother who misses her children back home.
The tension in the facility reaches a boiling point when Sheriff Lamb finds out that drugs are being smuggled into the jail through a corrupt staff member. He enlists the help of a trusted corrections officer, Captain Maples, to launch an investigation into the matter.
As the investigation unfolds, the participants are put in danger as the inmates become suspicious of their motives. Heather, in particular, is targeted by her fellow officers who believe that she is not who she claims to be.
The intense situation forces Sheriff Lamb to make a tough decision. He must either pull his participants out of the jail for their own safety or risk exposing their cover to protect them from potential harm.
The episode ends with a cliffhanger as the fate of the program hangs in the balance. Will Sheriff Lamb continue with the experiment or abandon it altogether? This episode is full of suspense and drama that keeps viewers on edge until the very end.
