In About a Boy season 2 episode 3, titled "About a Will-O-Ween", Will is feeling like he's missing out on the Halloween spirit, so he decides to go all out and create an epic haunted house for Marcus and his friends to enjoy. Meanwhile, Fiona and Sam struggle with finding the perfect costumes for the holiday, and Andy has an unexpected encounter with an old flame.
As Will prepares for the haunted house, he enlists the help of Andy, who has experience in the field of scare tactics. Together, they construct an elaborate maze in Will's backyard, complete with spooky decorations and jump scares aplenty. Marcus is excited to spend Halloween with his friends at the haunted house, but realizes that it might be too intense for some of them.
Meanwhile, Fiona insists on dressing up as a classic movie monster for Halloween, but has trouble finding a costume that fits her vision. Sam, on the other hand, is less enthusiastic about the holiday, but decides to go along with Fiona's plans and dress up as a matching movie monster.
Andy, who has been feeling down lately, is surprised to run into an old flame at a coffee shop. The two catch up and reminisce about old times, but when she invites him to a Halloween party, he realizes that he still has feelings for her and is unsure how to proceed.
As Halloween night arrives, Marcus and his friends arrive at Will's haunted house, only to find that it might have been too scary for them after all. Will and Andy try to tone down the scare factor, but end up causing a different kind of chaos when they accidentally set off all of their special effects at once.
In the end, everyone manages to have a good time on Halloween, even if it didn't go exactly as planned. Will learns the importance of finding balance and not going overboard, Fiona and Sam finally find the perfect costumes, and Andy makes a decision about his old flame that could lead to a new chapter in his life.
