American Beauty Star season 2 episode 9, titled "Inspired By...", follows the remaining contestants as they are challenged to create a makeup look inspired by a work of art. The challenge requires contestants to carefully study their chosen painting and use it as their main source of inspiration for their makeup look.
The episode begins with the contestants entering the studio and being tasked with choosing a painting from a selection that has been set out for them. They are given time to carefully examine the paintings and choose one that they feel most inspires them. Once the painting has been chosen, the contestants are given a brief amount of time to sketch out their makeup look before they begin working on their models.
The contestants are given access to a wide range of makeup products to use in their looks, and they are encouraged to be creative and take risks with their designs. Throughout the episode, the contestants work furiously to create their looks, carefully considering every detail from the colors they use to the placement of each stroke of makeup.
As the contestants work, they are visited by renowned artist and makeup creator, Roshar. Roshar offers his expertise and advice to each contestant, pushing them to take their designs to the next level.
Once the contestants have finished their looks, they present them to the judges. The judges carefully examine each look, considering how well the contestants have translated their chosen painting into a makeup look. They also consider the overall impact of the look, the technical skill displayed, and the creativity and risk-taking shown.
As the judges deliberate, the contestants anxiously await their verdict. For one contestant, however, their time on the show comes to an end, as they are eliminated from the competition.
The remaining contestants are left to face yet another challenge, one that will test their skills and creativity even further. As they work to create their next look, the pressure is on, as they know that at this stage in the competition, every mistake could cost them the chance to be named American Beauty Star.
