And you thought there is never a girl online? is an anime series produced by Project No.9 and based on a light novel series of the same name written by Kineko Shibai and illustrated by Hisasi. The series first aired in Japan on April 7, 2016. The English dubbed version of the series is available on FUNimation.

The story revolves around a high school student named Hideki Nishimura, who is an avid player of an online game called Legendary Age (LA). He plays the game under the username "Rusian" and belongs to a guild called "Alley Cats". One day, he proposes to a fellow guild member, Ako Tamaki. She accepts the proposal, but Nishimura soon realizes that Ako is unable to distinguish between the game and reality. She believes that their in-game marriage is real and falls in love with him outside the game.

Nishimura meets up with the other members of his guild in real life and discovers that they are all girls. This realization helps him to understand Ako's behavior better, and he decides to help her overcome her addiction to the game. Along with the help of his friends, he tries to teach Ako the difference between the game and reality.
