ATL Homicide Season 2 Episode 10 Boy Toys

  • August 19, 2019

In the tenth episode of the second season of ATL Homicide, titled "Boy Toys," viewers follow veteran detectives David Quinn and Vince Velazquez as they investigate a case that involves a double homicide. The episode starts with a 911 call, in which a frantic woman reports a shooting at the house she was visiting. When Quinn and Velazquez arrive at the crime scene, they find two young men lying dead on the living room floor, surrounded by toys and dolls.

The detectives start their investigation by interviewing the woman who made the 911 call. She tells them that she was visiting her friend's house when two men, whom she describes as "creepy," entered the house without knocking. The men, who were wearing masks and holding guns, started shooting at the two victims, who were also visiting the house. The woman managed to hide under a bed during the shooting and called the police as soon as it was safe to do so.

Quinn and Velazquez then turn to the two victims' families to gather more information about them. The first victim is identified as a young man named James. His mother tells the detectives that James was a good student and a hard worker, and had never been in trouble with the law. She also mentions that James had recently started dating a new girl, and she had not met her yet.

The second victim is identified as a young man named Anthony. His father tells the detectives that Anthony had been a troubled youth, and had been in and out of juvenile detention. However, he had turned his life around in recent years and had been working hard to provide for his family. Anthony's father also tells the detectives that his son had been spending a lot of time with a group of young men who were involved in criminal activity.

As the investigation progresses, Quinn and Velazquez start to gather evidence that points to a possible motive for the killings. They discover that James had been involved in a feud with a group of young men, including some of Anthony's friends. James had been in a relationship with one of the young women in the group, but had broken up with her recently. The detectives also find out that the young men in the group had been involved in stealing and selling toys and dolls from a local charity, and that James had threatened to go to the police if they did not stop.

The detectives start to piece together a timeline of events leading up to the murders. They believe that the young men in the group had seen James as a threat to their criminal activities, and had decided to eliminate him. Anthony had been in the wrong place at the wrong time, as he happened to be visiting James at the same time as the shooters arrived.

As Quinn and Velazquez continue their investigation, they face challenges from uncooperative witnesses and conflicting accounts of events. However, they persist in their search for the truth, and eventually uncover enough evidence to make an arrest.

Overall, "Boy Toys" is a gripping and intense episode of ATL Homicide, filled with twists and turns as the detectives seek to solve a complex and emotional case. The episode shows the value of perseverance and attention to detail in the investigative process, as well as the challenges that detectives face in dealing with difficult witnesses and incomplete information.
