At the first stop in Atlanta, Danielle visits Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, a beloved local institution that has been serving up traditional Southern barbecue for over a decade. There, she samples some of their signature dishes, including brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, and learns about the history and philosophy behind the restaurant's approach to cooking.

Next, Danielle heads to Lexington, North Carolina to visit the iconic Barbecue Center, known for its delicious pork shoulder and tangy sauce. She speaks with the owner about the history of the restaurant, which has been family-owned and operated since 1955, and gets a glimpse of the unique pit-roasting process that gives the meat its mouth-watering flavor.

Continuing on to the town of Shelby, Danielle stops at Red Bridges Barbecue Lodge, a local favorite that has been serving up classic Southern-style barbecue since the 1950s. There, she samples the restaurant's famous ribs and chopped pork, and chats with the current owner about the secrets behind their slow-cooking process.

The episode culminates at Buxton Hall Barbecue in Asheville, North Carolina, where Danielle meets with pitmaster Elliott Moss to learn about his modern twist on traditional Southern barbecue. Moss takes Danielle through the entire process, from smoking the meat to creating unique sauces and sides, and helps her understand the importance of honoring tradition while still pushing the boundaries of the cuisine.

Throughout the episode, Danielle's enthusiasm for barbecue shines through as she explores each of the unique establishments, chatting with owners and pitmasters and experiencing the rich flavors and aromas of Southern-style barbecue.
