BBQ Pit Wars is a brand new reality TV show that takes us to the heart of the Southern US where barbeques reign supreme. The show is hosted by pit masters from across the country who are battling it out for the title of the best BBQ in the land. Season 1 kicks off with a bang as teams from North Carolina go head to head in the North Carolina BBQ Throw Down.

First up, we have team Myron Mixon BBQ, led by the legendary Myron Mixon himself. He has won more BBQ competitions than any other pit master in history and is considered by many to be the godfather of BBQ. Myron is joined by his son Michael, who has been competing in BBQ since he was a young boy, and two other members of his team. The teams are given a brisket challenge to start off with - they must cook the perfect brisket in just four hours. The teams must trim it, season it, and cook it to perfection, all while battling the elements and each other.

Once the brisket challenge is over, the teams move on to the ribs challenge. Ribs are a staple of Southern BBQ and are beloved by everyone who has had the pleasure of tasting them. Myron Mixon and his team are confident that they can win this challenge as they have been cooking ribs for decades. However, Andrew Soto and his team are not to be underestimated - they have some secret ingredients up their sleeves that they know will give them the edge.

The final challenge of the day is the pork shoulder challenge. This is the most difficult meat to cook as it requires a lot of patience and skill to get it right. The teams must cook the pork shoulder for over 12 hours, keeping a watchful eye on the temperature and making sure that it is cooked to perfection. Myron Mixon and his team have won numerous competitions with their pork shoulder, but will their experience be enough to beat Andrew Soto and his team?

Throughout the day, the teams are subjected to the harsh Southern sun and the intense pressure of barbeque competition.
