Ep 12. Gold Fever

In "Bering Sea Gold" season 8 episode 12, titled "Gold Fever," the gold-hunting crews continue their quest for fortune on the unpredictable seas of Nome, Alaska.

Shawn Pomrenke, aka "Mr. Gold," is still determined to break his previous season’s record of 1,000 ounces. He's focused on developing his new high-tech dredge to increase his gold production and is putting his crew through rigorous training to ensure they can handle the challenging work.

Meanwhile, Emily Riedel is also on the hunt for gold, but her operation has hit a major snag. After constant mechanical failures, including a burned-out pump, she is bringing in outside help in the form of veteran dredger Dave Young. Dave has been called in to assess the situation and provide ideas for making the operation more efficient.

Zeke Tenhoff and his brother Sam are working tirelessly to keep their operation afloat, quite literally. Their boat is in dire need of repairs if they are to continue dredging for gold and they are determined to make it happen no matter what. Their efforts to keep the boat running even include a money-saving but somewhat risky repair that could result in disaster.

Ken Kerr and his crew are also dealing with their own set of challenges, despite having located a promising gold deposit. The mining season in Nome is short, and the pressure is on to collect as much gold as possible before the season ends.

As the gold hunters continue their quests for riches, they must navigate the unpredictable and deadly waters of the Bering Sea, deal with unexpected equipment issues, and find creative solutions to keep their operations afloat.
