Akihito tries to convince her that he is just human, but she doesn't believe him and attacks him with her sword. Akihito uses his regenerative abilities to heal from her attacks and tries to reason with her, telling her that killing him won't solve anything and that they could be friends. Mirai eventually stops attacking him, but she still seems hesitant.

The next day, Akihito goes to see Hiroomi and Mitsuki at the Literature Club and tells them about his encounter with Mirai. Hiroomi reveals to Akihito that Mirai is actually a cursed Spirit Warrior who is shunned by all other Spirit Warriors because she has the power to manipulate blood, which is seen as taboo. Akihito becomes interested in Mirai and decides to help her out, hoping to befriend her and learn more about the supernatural world.

The episode ends with Akihito tracking down Mirai to a rooftop where she is fighting a powerful youmu that has appeared in the city. Akihito jumps in to help her and they work together to defeat the youmu. Mirai realizes that she was wrong about Akihito and apologizes to him for trying to kill him. Akihito forgives her and suggests that they work together as Spirit Warriors to protect their city from youmu.
