In Black Bullet season 1 episode 3, titled "The Children of Fate," the story continues to focus on Rentaro Satomi, a young man working as a promoter of the Tendo Civil Security Agency in a post-apocalyptic world where humans are being targeted by parasitic creatures known as Gastrea. In this episode, Rentaro and Enju Aihara, who is the young girl partnered with him on assignments, are tasked with protecting a group of Cursed Children, young girls who possess unique abilities and are shunned by society because they are suspected of being carriers of the Gastrea virus.

The Tendo Civil Security Agency has received a request from a wealthy businessman who wants to ensure the safety of these Cursed Children as he wants to use them to develop new weapons that can combat against the Gastrea. Rentaro and Enju are called to act as their bodyguards and transport them to another location. However, things quickly become complicated when the group is ambushed by a mysterious man who seems to have a grudge against Rentaro.

As the episode unfolds, Rentaro finds himself fighting to protect the Cursed Children from both the Gastrea creatures and the attackers that are after them. These Cursed Children are a vital resource in the battle against the Gastrea, and Rentaro knows how important it is to keep them safe at all costs. However, this proves to be more challenging than he expected, as the Cursed Children are not willing to follow his orders and are putting themselves in danger by wandering off on their own.

One of the themes explored in this episode is the idea of fate and how it affects the lives of the characters. The Cursed Children are all born with a specific fate, which is predetermined by the fact that they carry the Gastrea virus. They are shunned by society and forced to live lives of isolation because of something that is beyond their control. Rentaro, on the other hand, has been given a different fate, one that allows him to fight against the Gastrea and protect those who cannot protect themselves. He is determined to change the fate of the Cursed Children and give them a chance to live normal lives.

As the episode progresses, Rentaro's dedication to protecting the Cursed Children is put to the test, and he finds himself in some difficult situations. There are several action-packed sequences throughout the episode, including a tense showdown between Rentaro and the mysterious man who seems to have a personal vendetta against him. The animation is top-notch, and the fight scenes are well choreographed, making for an exciting viewing experience.

Overall, "The Children of Fate" is an excellent third episode that further develops the world of Black Bullet and its characters. The Cursed Children are an intriguing addition to the story, and it will be interesting to see how their plight is explored in future episodes. The themes of fate and the importance of protecting the vulnerable are well-handled, and the action-packed sequences are sure to keep viewers engaged.
