Ep 1. Mercy

Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), the Police Commissioner of New York City and patriarch of the family, is dealing with a budget crisis that threatens to cut funding for the NYPD. His daughter, Erin (Bridget Moynahan), who works as an assistant district attorney, is struggling with a difficult case involving a young girl who has been sexually abused by her stepfather. And Linda (Amy Carlson), Danny's wife, is dealing with the aftermath of a devastating tragedy.

Overall, "Mercy" is a tense and emotional episode that deals with some heavy issues. The show does a great job of balancing the personal drama of the Reagan family with the procedural aspects of police work. The acting is strong across the board, and the writing is sharp and nuanced.
