Bob the Builder season 2 episode 17, titled "All at Sea," follows Bob and his team as they embark on a maritime project. Inspired by the upcoming Boat Race, the team is tasked with building a floating stage for the race's celebrations and musical performances.

The episode begins with the team brainstorming ideas for the float. Scoop suggests a pirate theme, while Muck proposes a Hawaiian hula theme. However, Bob decides to go with Wendy's suggestion of a classical theme, featuring a Greek temple-inspired stage surrounded by water.

The team starts by clearing the area and digging a large trench for the float's perimeter. Once the trench is dug, they use plywood sheets to form the float's base. They also construct a ramp for performers to access the stage and a small dock for Bob's boat, which he will use to transport supplies and tools.

The team faces some challenges during the project. They struggle to find suitable materials for the float's columns, but eventually, Bob improvises a solution using PVC pipes and foam blocks. They also have trouble filling the trench with water, but Scoop comes up with a creative way to pump water from the nearby river into the trench.

Meanwhile, some newcomers to the area, Pirates Pete and Pirate Paddy, have sail into the harbor. They are en route to the Boat Race, but their boat is in poor condition and needs repairs. Bob offers to help them by towing their boat to the nearby repair dock.

As they work on the float, the team learns more about the upcoming Boat Race. It turns out that Pirate Pete and Pirate Paddy are participating in the race and are also the favorites to win. Wendy is excited to attend the race and listen to the live music on the float they are building.

With the float complete, Bob prepares to move it to the harbor. However, as he is about to leave, he discovers that Pirates Pete and Paddy's boat is drifting away from the dock while they are not aboard. Bob quickly hops on his boat and chases down the runaway boat, managing to secure it before it drifts out to sea.

With Pirates Pete and Paddy's boat safely moored, Bob is able to tow the float to the harbor. Here, they install the Greek temple-inspired stage onto the float. Wendy adds finishing touches to the float with flowers and greenery while the rest of the team adds lights and other decorations.

The team finishes the float just in time for the Boat Race celebrations. As the race begins, the float serves as the focal point of the event, showcasing musical performances and an excellent view of the race. Wendy and the rest of the team enjoy themselves, listening to the music and watching the boat race.

"All at Sea" is a heartwarming and fun episode that highlights the importance of teamwork and quick thinking. Despite facing challenges during the project, the team was able to overcome them and finish the float in time for the Boat Race's celebration. Furthermore, Bob's efforts in saving Pirates Pete and Paddy's boat demonstrated his selflessness and willingness to help others in need.
