In the first episode of season 1 of Botched, titled "Human Dolls", renowned plastic surgeons Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif take on three different cases of people who have undergone extreme procedures to transform their bodies into human dolls.
The first case features a woman named Lisa who has had over 30 surgeries to look like a living Barbie doll. Dr. Dubrow expresses concern over Lisa's chest implants, which are so large they are causing her discomfort and difficulty breathing. Meanwhile, Dr. Nassif is tasked with fixing Lisa's misshapen nose, which was left crooked and sunken in after a previous surgery.
The second case features a man named Justin who has spent over $100,000 on surgeries to transform his appearance into that of a Ken doll. However, Justin's numerous surgeries have left him with a nose that is collapsing and a chin implant that is shifting out of place. Dr. Dubrow must work to reconstruct Justin's nose while Dr. Nassif attempts to fix his chin implant and restore his natural appearance.
The third case involves a woman named Kitty who has had extensive facial surgeries to look like a cat. However, Kitty's botched facelift has left her with permanent nerve damage and a twisted, asymmetrical face. Dr. Dubrow works to improve Kitty's facial symmetry while Dr. Nassif attempts to restore feeling to the damaged nerves in her face.
Throughout the episode, Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Nassif provide insightful commentary on the psychological factors that drive individuals to undergo extreme cosmetic procedures. They also demonstrate the technical skills required to correct botched surgeries and restore patients' confidence in their appearances. "Human Dolls" sets the tone for the rest of the season, showcasing the doctors' expertise in correcting some of the most extreme cases of plastic surgery gone wrong.
