Watch Brick City

Brick City is a reality televisions series that focuses on life in Newark, NJ. Newark is one of the most violent cities in the United States and the series focuses on people trying to turn the city around. The series follows Mayor Cory Booker, Police Director Garry McCarthy, and two gang members, Jayda and Creep.

Jayda and Creep are a real life Romeo and Juliet, both having been members of rival gangs. They are now romantically involved and are looking to raise a family together. Jayda ends up getting pregnant and the couple is excited but stressed out. Jayda is also looking to start a mentoring group for young women, to keep them in school and off the streets. She wants to use her past as a gang member who left the gang as a source of inspiration to these women.

Meanwhile, Newark is facing a severe budget crisis and the Mayor and City Council are fighting back and forth over what programs to prioritize. The biggest project in Newark is the construction of a brand new high school. In turns out that, despite the time and money spent on it, the high school will not be ready in time for the school year.

Creep is also facing criminal charges and he is being represented by a smart, savvy lawyer named Brooke. Jayda is facing a potential court case of her own but her work with the mentoring group makes her look good in the judge's eyes. The circus then comes to town, which is huge because it has not come to town in years. The mayor is also busy campaigning for Barack Obama. Chris Christie is elected governor of New Jersey and even though his politics are different from Booker's, he comes to Newark to see how they can join forces for the city's good.
