Ep 4. Woody

Cardinal season 1 episode 4, "Woody", follows detectives John Cardinal and Lise Delorme as they investigate the disappearance of a young woman named Katie Pine. The episode begins with Cardinal and Delorme receiving a call from Katie's parents, who haven't heard from her in a few days. They hurry to her apartment to question her roommates, but find that they've all moved out.

The detectives soon discover that Katie was last seen with a man named Woody Baldwin, a known drug dealer with a violent past. Cardinal and Delorme visit Woody's mother, who tells them that her son has been missing for a few days as well. They manage to track down Woody's drug dealer associate, who provides some useful information about Woody's whereabouts.

Throughout the episode, Cardinal and Delorme continue to unearth more clues about Woody and Katie's disappearance. They visit a strip club and a motel that Woody frequented, and question several of his acquaintances. Meanwhile, they have to deal with interference from their superiors, who are more concerned with budget cuts than finding Katie.

As the investigation progresses, Cardinal becomes increasingly obsessed with finding Woody and Katie. He spends hours pouring over surveillance footage and developing theories about what might have happened to them. Delorme, on the other hand, is more level-headed and tries to keep Cardinal's emotions in check.

Finally, the detectives receive a tip that leads them to a desolate area outside the city, where they find Woody's abandoned car. They follow a trail of footprints to a nearby cabin, where they discover a disturbing scene that confirms their worst fears. Without giving away too much, let's just say that the cabin scene is one of the most shocking moments of the series so far.

Throughout "Woody", Cardinal season 1 episode 4, the show continues to impress with its moody atmosphere and dark subject matter. The writing is top-notch, with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The acting is also excellent, particularly from stars Billy Campbell and Karine Vanasse, who have great chemistry as Cardinal and Delorme.

One of the great things about Cardinal is how it manages to balance the police procedural elements with a more personal story about Cardinal's obsession and his troubled past. This episode does a great job of delving deeper into Cardinal's character and showing how his experiences have shaped his worldview.

Overall, "Woody" is another strong episode in what is shaping up to be a fantastic series. Fans of crime dramas and mystery shows won't want to miss this one.
