Natural Geographic has announced a new series called Leader of the Pack. The show will feature Cesar Millan, a famous dog trainer. Leader of the Pack aims to raise awareness about the issues facing abandoned dogs around the world. In the show, Cesar will work with dogs that are considered unadoptable because of behavior issues. Viewers who want to watch Cesar's world renowned dog training techniques will be able to watch Cesar work with the dogs in his new Dog Rehabilitation Center in Spain. He will attempt to work with the dog in order to place difficult dogs in a new, loving home. In addition, he also works with the families who want to adopt the dog to ensure that they will be the best fit family. Families are mainly from the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Netherlands. Although the series is supposed to be informative, by raising awareness about abandonment of dogs worldwide, the series also has a reality game show aspect. Families interested in adopting the potential dogs will travel to Spain to compete for the chance to adopt one of the abandoned dogs Cesar has worked with. Cesar will then observe the families during various dog related tasks. The tasks are designed to determine whether the family will be compatible with the dog. By watching the families work through these tasks, Cesar hopes to see if there are any issues with the family that may make placing a dog with them an issue. The winner of the tasks will be able to head home with a new canine companion. The first season of Leader of the Pack will consist of 12 episodes that will each last one hour, including commercials. In the United States the series will air on Nat Geo Wild.
