Charlotte is an anime television series that aired in 2015. The show follows the life of Yuu Otosaka, a high school student with the ability to temporarily possess the body of anyone within his line of sight. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he is approached by Nao Tomori, a girl with the ability to make herself invisible to a specific person or group of people. She enlists Yuu's help in founding a student council consisting of individuals with special abilities like theirs.
Episode 1, titled "I Think About Others," introduces us to Yuu as he uses his powers to cheat on exams and gain popularity among his peers. However, Nao quickly puts an end to his mischievous behavior by exposing his ability to the rest of the class. She then explains to Yuu that she needs his help in finding others like them and establishing a student council before they are discovered by the world outside their school.
To convince Yuu to join her cause, Nao reveals her own personal reasons for wanting to gather others with special abilities. She explains that her younger brother was taken away by researchers who were interested in studying his ability to make time stand still. Nao hopes that by gathering others like them, they can protect themselves from being taken away and studied.
As Nao and Yuu search for others with special abilities, they come across Jojiro Takajo, a boy with the ability to teleport short distances. They convince him to join their cause and together they continue to search for others. Their search leads them to Ayumi Otosaka, Yuu's younger sister, who has the ability to predict and draw the future. They also meet Yusa Nishimori, a famous idol who is possessed by the spirit of her deceased sister, Misa.
The episode ends with Yuu, Nao, Jojiro, Ayumi, and Yusa forming the student council and working together to uncover the truth behind their abilities and the mysterious organization known as the "Syndicate."
