Ep 15. Deja Voodoo

Johnny Smith, a former schoolteacher who has been in a coma for six years, wakes up with psychic powers that allow him to see into the past and future of people he touches. In the Dead Zone season 2 episode 15, entitled Deja Voodoo, Johnny is asked to help an old friend from his hometown investigation.

Johnny is visited by his childhood friend, Bruce, who he hasn't seen in years. Bruce is a detective in their hometown and he's in need of Johnny's help with a murder investigation. A young girl named Sarah has been found murdered in the woods and the murderer has left bizarre markings on her body. These markings resemble Voodoo symbols and Bruce believes that the killer may be connected to Voodoo practices.

Johnny meets with Bruce and they visit the crime scene where Johnny touches the girl's clothing and has a vision of the killer. He sees a hooded figure with strange markings on his arms and a glimpse of the murder weapon. Bruce informs Johnny that they haven't been able to identify any suspects yet and the only person they have is Sarah's ex-boyfriend, who has a seemingly solid alibi.

Johnny and Bruce visit Sarah's school and talk to her classmates. They find out that Sarah had been missing a few days before her body was found and that she had befriended a new student, a shy girl named Rose. Johnny touches Rose's hand and has a vision of a hooded figure attempting to strangle her in the woods. He also sees that Rose was the one who found Sarah's body and that she has been traumatized ever since.

As they leave the school, Johnny and Bruce are confronted by Mambo Celine, who claims that the killer is connected to Voodoo rituals in the area. Johnny, who previously had a negative experience with Voodoo, is skeptical and dismissive of her claims. Bruce, on the other hand, is open to any lead that could help solve the case.

Meanwhile, Davina tries to communicate with her daughter's spirit through Voodoo rituals. She believes that Mambo Celine is her only hope at finding peace and closure. However, as she becomes more involved in the rituals, strange things start happening around her.

Johnny and Bruce investigate a Voodoo shop which may be connected to the killer. They find strange markings on the walls, incense, and other Voodoo paraphernalia. While Johnny is inside the shop, he has a vision of the hooded figure attacking him and realizes that he's in danger.

As the investigation continues, Johnny and Bruce start to suspect that Sarah's murder is connected to a hate crime. They believe that the killer is targeting mixed-race couples and that Sarah's boyfriend, who is black, may have been the intended victim. However, as they delve deeper into the case, they find out that the motivations are much more complex.

The tension builds up towards the end of the episode as Johnny and Bruce get closer to uncovering the truth. However, they soon realize that the killer is much closer to home than they thought, leading to a shocking twist.

Deja Voodoo is an intense episode that blends psychic powers, murder investigation, and Voodoo practices into a thrilling mystery. It's a great example of how Dead Zone combines supernatural elements with gritty realism to create a compelling show.
