Ep 10. DIY Burial

In the tenth episode of the tenth season of Deadly Women, titled "DIY Burial," the show explores the stories of three different women who, for various reasons, felt compelled to bury their victims themselves.

The first segment of the episode focuses on Georgia Tann, a woman who ran an adoption agency in Tennessee in the mid-twentieth century. Tann was known for her unethical and often illegal methods of obtaining babies for adoption, including kidnapping, fraud, and coercion. She would target poor, single mothers and convince them to sign over their children, often by telling them that they would be placed in loving homes. In reality, many of the babies were sold for vast sums of money to wealthy families, while others were neglected and abused in foster homes. When Tann died in 1950, her estate was found to contain the remains of several of the babies in her care, buried on her property.

The second segment of the episode tells the story of Martha Wise, a woman who lived in Ohio in the early twentieth century. Wise was described as a kind and caring nurse who enjoyed helping her patients. However, she had a darker side as well - she was a serial killer who poisoned at least four people, including her own husbands and children, with arsenic. When one of her victims started to show signs of being poisoned, Wise panicked and decided to bury them in her own backyard. She was eventually caught and sentenced to life in prison.

The final segment of the episode focuses on Sharon Kinne, a woman who committed a string of crimes in the 1960s and 70s. Kinne was married with three children when she began an affair with a married man named James Kinne. After James' wife was found shot to death, Sharon fled to Mexico with her children. While there, she met a wealthy businessman named Francisco Parades Ordonez, and the two began a tumultuous relationship. When Ordonez was found shot to death in his own home, Sharon again fled to Mexico with her children, but was eventually arrested and extradited to the United States. While awaiting trial for Ordonez's murder, she escaped from jail and went on the run, committing several more crimes before finally being caught and sentenced to life in prison.

Throughout the episode, the women's motives for burying their victims themselves are explored, as well as the societal factors that allowed them to get away with their crimes for so long. The show also features interviews with experts in forensic pathology and criminal psychology to provide insight into the minds of these deadly women.
