Blanche had a long history of poisoning her romantic partners and family members for monetary gain. Her first husband died under suspicious circumstances in 1966, and all of her subsequent husbands and boyfriends met similar fates. Blanche also killed her own father and attempted to poison her mother to death. She was finally caught and sentenced to death, making her the first woman to be executed in North Carolina in over 50 years.

Throughout the episode, Deadly Women uses interviews with law enforcement officials, experts, and family members to provide context and insight into each woman's motivations and actions.
