Ep 1. An Ideal Husband

In Devious Maids season 2 episode 1, entitled "An Ideal Husband", the lives of the maids pause briefly as they mourn the loss of fellow maid Flora Hernandez, who had been murdered at the end of last season. However, life must go on, and Marisol Duarte (played by Ana Ortiz) is keen to find out more about Flora's killer and enlists the help of her new love interest Nicholas Deering, played by Mark Deklin, to do so.

Carmen Luna (played by Roselyn Sanchez) is still attempting to make it big in the music industry and has finally achieved her dream of singing in front of a big audience, but things don't quite go as planned. Zoila Diaz (played by Judy Reyes) is still dealing with the aftermath of last season's revelation regarding her own husband.

The new season brings new characters, and the episode introduces us to Peri Westmore, played by Mariana Klaveno, a successful soap opera actress and wife to the wealthy and successful Spence Westmore, played by Grant Show. However, this seemingly perfect couple is hiding a big secret - one that Marisol soon discovers.

Meanwhile, Rosie Falta, played by Dania Ramirez, is trying to get used to her new life as the wife of millionaire Spence's loyal employee, Ernesto Falta, played by Cruz Martinez. While Rosie tries to adjust to her new life, Ernesto has his eyes on a big score that could potentially change their life forever.

Lastly, we have Adrian and Evelyn Powell, played respectively by Tom Irwin and Rebecca Wisocky, who are dealing with marital issues. However, when Adrian comes across an old acquaintance, things suddenly take a surprising turn.

The episode sets up the season well, with plenty of drama, secrets, and new characters to keep viewers engaged. The new storylines and characters that were introduced complement the returning characters, as we witness how the maids navigate through their complicated lives in Beverly Hills. Additionally, the episode maintains the show's signature comedic storytelling and features some great acting from the cast.
