In the first adventure, "Fishing for Dinosaurs," Dan and his friends go on a fishing trip to a nearby river. While fishing, Dan notices some unusual behavior in the fish and suspects that there may be a prehistoric creature in the river. He sets out to investigate, and with the help of his trusty dinosaur guide Trek, he discovers a real-life prehistoric fish called a Coelacanth. Dan is excited to learn about this rare creature, but also realizes the importance of protecting its habitat and allowing it to live in peace.

In the second adventure, "Dino Doug," Dan meets a new classmate named Doug who claims to have seen a real-life dinosaur in the woods near their school. At first, Dan is skeptical, but when he and his friends find some strange footprints and other clues, they begin to believe that Doug may be telling the truth. Together, they follow the clues and eventually come face-to-face with a live dinosaur! Dan is thrilled to have seen a real dinosaur, but also realizes the importance of keeping its existence a secret in order to protect it from harm.
