In the episode "Beating The Heat / Flowers For Mom" of Dinosaur Train season 1, Buddy and his siblings Tiny, Shiny, and Don are back on the dinosaur train with their mom, Mrs. Pteranodon. The Pachycephalosauruses are not happy to see the Pteranodon family and a confrontation ensues. However, Buddy comes up with a plan to help both groups beat the heat by sharing the shade. Through teamwork and cooperation, they are able to find a way to coexist peacefully in their shared space.

Later in the episode, the Pteranodon family is on a mission to find flowers for Mom's special occasion. They are excited to find a wide variety of flowers in the prehistoric wild, but when they present the bouquet to Mom, they discover that they have accidentally mixed up the flowers and neither of them can identify the correct one.

Determined to solve the mystery, the family embarks on an adventure to find the right flower. Along the way, they encounter many different types of flowers and learn about their unique characteristics and uses. Eventually, they find the perfect flower for Mom and return home just in time to surprise her.
