- September 4, 2011
In Dinosaur Train season 2 episode 26, viewers are taken on two exciting adventures with Buddy and his family. The first adventure is titled "Dinosaur Train Submarine: A Sea Turtle Tale" and begins with Buddy and his siblings wondering what it would be like to swim in the ocean. Their friend, Ned the Nautilus, tells them about his cousins who live in the ocean and invites the Pteranodon family to go on a submarine ride to meet them. The family happily accepts the invitation and soon find themselves exploring the incredible wide-open sea.
As they venture forth in their submarine, they encounter various species of sea creatures such as a school of fish, a giant squid, a viperfish, and a humpback whale. However, as they were swimming, they receive word from Ned's cousins that they are in trouble and need their help. The cousins are green sea turtles, who are struggling to hatch their eggs on the beach due to high tide.
Realizing that they could help, the Pteranodon family quickly comes up with a plan. They swoop in and move the turtle eggs to higher ground with the help of their submarine. Soon, the baby sea turtles hatch and make their way towards the ocean, and the Pteranodon family watches with wonder and joy. The experience teaches them the importance of helping others and being good friends, no matter where they are.
In the second adventure called "Rocket Train," Buddy and his family are invited by old friend Mr. Conductor to ride the new Rocket Train. The train can travel at an incredibly fast speed and takes them high up into the sky. They take a bird's eye view of the forests of Pangea, where they spot various dinosaurs, some familiar and some new.
Their impressive journey takes them all the way to the volcano but not before the train breaks down, and they must work together to help it get back on track. The Pteranodon family uses teamwork to collect lost rocket pieces and use their weight to help the train move again. They finally make it to the volcano, where they view the eruption from a safe distance.
The adventures show children the importance of teamwork, helping others in need and offers a glimpse into the world of sea creatures and the benefits of exploring unknown things.
