Ep 23. Wrap Around the Clock (2)

In this episode of Family Ties, titled "Wrap Around the Clock (2)," the Keaton family continues to prepare for Christmas. Steven (Michael Gross) and Elyse (Meredith Baxter) are still struggling to find an affordable present for their youngest son, Andy (Brian Bonsall), while Alex (Michael J. Fox) is getting ready for his big date with Ellen (Tracy Pollan).

As the family gathers around the tree to wrap presents, Skippy (Marc Price) tries to convince Mallory (Justine Bateman) to go out with him, but she's hesitant due to their long history as friends. Meanwhile, Jennifer (Tina Yothers) is trying to prove she's old enough to stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve.

As the day wears on, tensions rise as Steven and Elyse try to keep their budget in check while still giving Andy the Christmas he deserves. Alex, on the other hand, is feeling nervous about his date with Ellen and seeks advice from his parents.

The family eventually gathers for a game of Charades, but things quickly devolve into arguments and misunderstandings. Skippy finally gets Mallory to agree to a date, and Jennifer successfully convinces her parents to let her stay up late.

In the end, the Keatons come together to celebrate the New Year and realize that, despite their differences and occasional arguments, they're a loving family who will always be there for each other.
