Feast of the Gods, which is also known as Supper of the Gods or Banquet of the Gods, is a South Korean television series that first aired in 2012. Jo Eun-jung is credited with writing the series. The show fits well into both the melodrama and comedy genres. Feast of the Gods is directed by Lee Dong-yoon and is aired in Korean on MBC. The series tracks the fates of two girls who had their identities switched. Later in life, these characters end up in competition with each other for a coveted position. The show is set against the backdrop of Arirang, a Korean restaurant with a specialty in royal Korean dishes. Over many generations, this restaurant has selected only the cream of the crop among available chefs to maintain its tradition of serving its specialty. In the early stages of the show Sung Do-hee, who is played by Jeon In-hwa is chosen as the apparent successor. Her nemesis, Baek Seol-hee, goes to great lengths to secure the position. This leads to a series of events that are driven by jealousy and greed where both women put their families and happiness at risk. These events ultimately lead to the women experiencing tragedies and losses of indescribable magnitude in both their lives. Many years after this original feud, when Arirang needs a new chef, Go Joon-young, who is played by Sung Yu-ri, emerges are a candidate for the position. In the meantime, Sung Do-hee's daughter, played by Seo Hyeon-jin, is also vying for the same position. It is revealed that, in addition to their mutual desire for the job, these two have intertwined pasts and identities. The resulting drama explores the meaning of integrity amidst corruption and deceit. Other notable cast members include Jung Min-ah, who plays the young Go Joon-young and Joo Da-young who makes an appearance the young Ha In-joo, Sung Do-hee's daughter. The older incarnation of Ha In-joo is played by Seo Hyeon-jin. Some of the other members of the cast include Choi Jae-ha, played by Joo Sang-wook, Lee Sang-woo, who plays Kim Do-yoon and Kim Bo-yeon, who plays Baek Seol-hee.
