- July 23, 2014
Four in a Bed season 7 episode 8, titled "From The Shelley Guesthouse to The George Hotel," takes viewers on a journey as four sets of business owners take turns staying at each other's establishments and scoring them based on various criteria, including cleanliness, value for money, and overall experience.
The first stop on the trip is The Shelley Guesthouse, run by married couple Bill and Elaine. Located in the picturesque town of Lewes, the guesthouse boasts six bedrooms, each with its own unique decor. Bill and Elaine pride themselves on their homemade breakfasts, which are made with locally sourced ingredients. However, will the other contestants appreciate the vintage decor and creaky floors, or will they find it too worn and outdated?
The next stop is The Black Horse Inn, run by pub owner David and his wife Laura. The inn features eight en-suite bedrooms and a cozy bar, where guests can enjoy drinks and snacks. The Black Horse Inn's location in the quaint village of Thurnham provides a peaceful escape from city life, but will the other contestants be impressed with the remote location and country decor?
Following that is The Royal Oak, owned by husband and wife team Matt and Lisa. The traditional pub boasts nine bedrooms, each with its own unique character. The Royal Oak is situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, and their menu is celebrated for its delicious, locally sourced produce. However, the competition may find the decor a bit drab and the pub atmosphere too noisy.
The final stop of the competition is The George Hotel, owned by husband and wife team Gwynn and Denise. Located in the stunning town of Penrith, The George Hotel is a Grade I listed building with a rich history dating back to the 1700s. The hotel has 35 bedrooms and a luxurious spa, which will no doubt impress the competition. But will they appreciate the upscale atmosphere and high prices, or will they prefer the more rustic charm of the earlier stops?
Throughout the competition, the contestants will engage in friendly banter and constructive criticism as they score each other's establishments. At the end of their stay, they will reveal their scores and determine which establishment will be crowned the winner of this installment of Four in a Bed.
