Four in a Bed is a popular British reality television show that offers viewers a glimpse into the world of bed-and-breakfast accommodation establishments competing against one another for the title of the best value for money. In season 9 episode 12, the show’s contestants stay at the Park Farm Camping, a cosy campsite located in the heart of the picturesque New Forest.

The episode starts with the arrival of the first set of contestants, husband and wife duo Jane and Terry, who own and run a bed-and-breakfast in Milton Keynes. The couple is greeted by the cheery hosts, Laura and Rob, who show them around the campsite’s amenities, including a games room, coffee shop, and a farm where patrons can feed the animals. After settling in, Jane and Terry gather around the communal fire pit with their fellow contestants, a group of three friends who run a seaside hotel in Weston-super-Mare, for an evening of drinks and conversation.

The next morning, Laura and Rob serve up a delicious breakfast of hearty sausages, farm-fresh eggs, homemade bread, and local jams and marmalades, all cooked over an open fire pit. Despite Jane and Terry’s initial reluctance to camping, they appear to be enjoying their stay and the communal spirit of the campsite.

Later in the day, the contestants set off to explore the picturesque New Forest, with Jane and Terry opting for a bike ride, while the seaside hotel trio and the proprietors of a nearby guesthouse go for a hike. The diverse group’s different backgrounds and personalities start to show as they banter and argue throughout the trip, but all in good spirits.

While the seaside hotel trio is impressed with the campsite’s facilities and friendly hosts, Jane and Terry start to pick at some minor points of improvement, such as the lack of hot water in the shared washrooms or the availability of on-site laundry facilities. However, they are quick to point out that their criticisms come from a place of constructive feedback and do not detract from their overall positive impression of Park Farm Camping.

At dinner time, Laura and Rob prepare a dinner of barbecued meats, grilled vegetables, and a variety of salads, all sourced from local suppliers. The contestants enjoy their meal alfresco under the starry sky, sharing stories and joking around. However, as the evening winds down, the competitive element of the show starts to emerge, with each contestant subtly evaluating their experience against the others.

The bed-and-breakfast owners from Milton Keynes are the first to depart, leaving behind a card with feedback for Laura and Rob, as well as a tip in an envelope. The seaside hotel trio, the guesthouse owners, and the hosts all seem to be enjoying their stay, but with the airing of their grievances, it remains to be seen who will come out on top.

In the next episode, the contestants will visit the bed-and-breakfast in Weston-super-Mare. Until then, viewers are left with a heartwarming and entertaining glimpse into the world of camping, camaraderie, and competition that makes Four in a Bed such a perennial favorite.
