Ep 15. Living While Eddie

After an absence of a few weeks, Fresh Off the Boat returns for its 15th episode of the third season, Living While Eddie. In this installment, we find Eddie (Hudson Yang) struggling with a new parental restriction - Jessica (Constance Wu) and Louis (Randall Park) have purchased a new mattress and are determined to make it last. Eddie, not wanting to be seen as a kid anymore, decides to take matters into his own hands and purchase a secondhand mattress, which he proceeds to keep in his closet.

At school, Eddie begins to take advantage of his new situation, inviting his classmates over to crash on his hidden mattress. However, he soon learns that being the cool kid has its downsides, as one of his friends really does have nowhere to stay and Eddie can't say no. Meanwhile, Jessica and Louis are struggling with their own mattress issues, unable to sleep comfortably on their new purchase and searching for a solution.

Elsewhere, Emery (Forrest Wheeler) and Evan (Ian Chen) team up with Grandma (Lucille Soong) to produce a hip-hop music video in an effort to win a video contest. However, they quickly realize that bringing their vision to life is harder than they expected, and Grandma's rapping skills leave something to be desired.

As usual, this episode of Fresh Off the Boat deals with issues of family, identity, and cultural clashes in a funny and relatable way. The Huang family continues to navigate their way through life as immigrants in 1990s America, with all the trials and tribulations that come with it. From Eddie's rebellion to Grandma's unexpected hip-hop talents, Living While Eddie offers plenty of laughs along the way.
