After a brief hiatus, Fresh Off the Boat is back with its 18th episode of season 3, titled Time to Get Ill. This light-hearted family comedy follows the story of the Huangs, a Taiwanese family that moves to Orlando, Florida in the 1990s. In this episode, we see the struggles that the family faces as Louis, the patriarch, tries to navigate his way through the business world.

The episode begins with Louis coming to the realization that he has not been taking care of his health. He hasn't had a physical in years and knows that he is overdue. Despite his wife, Jessica's, protests, he makes an appointment with the doctor and heads in for a check-up. At the doctor's office, Louis is told that he needs to get a colonoscopy done, and he is very nervous about the procedure.

Meanwhile, Jessica tries to take over the family's Honey business but soon realizes that it's not as easy as it looks. She has always been the brains behind the operation, but she has never been the one to actually make the honey. With her husband away at the doctor's office, she attempts to make the honey herself but is not very successful. Her son, Eddie, volunteers to help her out, but things quickly go awry, and they end up with a sticky mess.

Back at the doctor's office, Louis is given anesthesia, and the next thing he knows, he is waking up from the procedure. The doctor tells him that everything went smoothly, but Louis is still apprehensive about the results. He becomes increasingly anxious as he waits to hear back from the doctor.

While Louis is dealing with his health issues, his sons' love lives are taking center stage. Eddie has a crush on a girl named Allison and wants to ask her to the school dance. However, he is too nervous to do it himself, so he enlists the help of his younger brother, Evan. Evan, who has developed a crush on his teacher, decides to use Eddie's situation to his advantage and strikes a deal with him: Eddie will help Evan get a date with his teacher, and in return, Evan will help Eddie ask out Allison.

As the day of the dance approaches, Eddie and Evan both realize that their crushes are not everything they thought they were. Evan's teacher turns out to be a bit weird, and Eddie discovers that Allison has been using him to get closer to another boy. Both boys are disappointed, but they eventually come to terms with the fact that they are better off without their crushes.

As the episode comes to an end, Louis finally gets the results of his tests, and he is relieved to hear that there is nothing wrong with him. He turns over a new leaf and starts taking care of his health. Jessica also has a change of heart and realizes that she needs to let go of some control and trust her husband more.

Overall, Time to Get Ill is a fun and heartwarming episode of Fresh Off the Boat that tackles issues of love, health, and family. The show's talented cast delivers standout performances, and the writing is as sharp and witty as ever. Fans of the series will not be disappointed with this episode, which perfectly balances humor and heart.
