Ep 4. Driver's Eddie

It's prom season in Orlando and Eddie is excited to finally get his driver's license, so he can take Alison to the big dance. He's studied hard and even though he fails the written portion of the driving test, the instructor takes pity on him and passes him anyway. However, Jessica is not happy with the easy pass. She thinks Eddie needs to learn the rules of the road and takes him out for some real-life driving lessons.

Things don't go smoothly, as Jessica turns out to be a tough taskmaster. She makes Eddie drive in a mall parking lot, parallel park, and merge onto the freeway during rush hour traffic. Eddie is stressed out, but Jessica believes in tough love and tells him that his driving skills are a reflection of her parenting skills. Meanwhile, Louis is busy trying to help Emery get over his fear of sleepwalking, and tries hypnosis as a treatment option.

At school, Eddie is jealous of the senior boys who can drive to prom in fancy cars. When Dave Kim announces that he's driving in a 1987 Chrysler LeBaron convertible, Eddie decides he needs to step up his game. He borrows Emery's walkie-talkies and recruits Emery to be his co-pilot, drawing up a grand plan to make Alison's prom night unforgettable.

However, as the night progresses, things go awry. Eddie discovers that Emery is a terrible co-pilot and seems more interested in flirting with girls than helping Eddie with his plan. Also, Dave Kim's car breaks down and Eddie is left with no ride to the dance. Jessica comes to the rescue and offers to drive them in their minivan, but Eddie is embarrassed and doesn't want to show up in a "mom car."

Just when things seem like they couldn't get any worse, Eddie crashes Dave Kim's car into a shopping cart, causing a dent. He's devastated and worried that he'll get into trouble with his parents. However, Dave Kim surprisingly takes the blame, and Eddie realizes that he's gained a true friend in the process.

Despite the setbacks, Eddie and Alison end up having a great time at prom, dancing to "Never Gonna Give You Up" and enjoying each other's company. Back at home, Louis tries the hypnosis treatment on Emery, but it seems to have unintended consequences. The episode ends with a hilarious scene of Emery sleepwalking and Louis trying to keep up with him.

Overall, "Driver's Eddie" is a fun and heartwarming episode that explores the ups and downs of teenage life. It's also a reminder that sometimes, the best memories are made when things don't go according to plan.
