In season 2 episode 7 of FutureWeapons, titled Predators, viewers are taken on a journey to understand the latest developments in military technology and how it's helping to counter the threat from predators. The episode is presented by Richard "Mack" Machowicz, a former Navy SEAL and host of the show.

The episode begins with Mack highlighting the issue of wildlife destroying crops, livestock, and threatening human lives in certain regions of the world. He explains how this problem is particularly prevalent in parts of Africa where lions, elephants, and other large beasts destroy crops, hunt livestock, and even attack humans. The episode then moves on to discuss how military technology can be used to counter this threat.

In the first segment of the show, Mack visits a company called Sarcos who has developed a set of robotic exoskeletons that can help military personnel carry heavy equipment and supplies long distances without tiring. He goes on to show how this technology can be used in Africa to help rangers patrol thousands of hectares of land without getting fatigued and how it can be adapted to deliver supplies to remote areas, reducing the need for vehicles that scare away animals.

Next, Mack visits a team of researchers at the University of Oxford who have been testing a new type of drones, nicknamed the "Robotic Falcon." The drones perfectly replicate the flight of falcons, who are natural predators to the animals causing issues, so they can be trained to fly over fields and scare away wildlife without harming them. Mack's cameras capture stunning footage of the drones in action, as they kite around and scare off elephants, lions, and other predators.

In a later segment, Mack meets with a group of developers who have created a new type of grenade called the BIP. This grenade, designed to be non-lethal, uses a blast of sound energy to disorient and temporarily incapacitate enemies. The BIP can be used to repel animals threatening humans without any danger of harming them.

Finally, Mack visits the Applied Research Associates, where he is introduced to a special anti-poaching technology called the SpotterRF system. This system is based on the same technology used in the military to track enemy movement—sort of like a radar, but smaller. Mack explains how this could be used to track the movement of predators in real-time and allows rangers to respond quickly, either by deploying drones or sending patrols with the best knowledge of where to go.

Throughout the episode, Mack expresses his enthusiasm and support for the use of military technology to combat the issue of wildlife causing harm to humans and their way of life. He emphasizes how this technology could prove instrumental in ensuring that people living in these areas can protect their crops and families without having to resort to lethal means.

In conclusion, FutureWeapons season 2 episode 7, Predators, is an informative and fascinating look at how military technology is being adapted to protect people from the threat of wildlife. The show does an excellent job of highlighting both the threats and challenges faced by people living in these areas, as well as the innovative solutions that are being developed to counter this problem. It's an excellent episode for anyone interested in the intersection of technology and nature, as we explore these new horizons.
