Getbackers Season 1 Episode 2 Get Back the Rusted Bonds!

Getbackers Season 1 Episode 2, "Get Back the Rusted Bonds!" revolves around the duo of Ban Mido and Ginji Amano, who are known as the "GetBackers". They are hired by a client who requires them to retrieve a rare steel from a manufacturing plant.

The client explains that the steel has been stolen from him previously, and it possesses the rare quality of being impenetrable. The client wants to use the steel to create a safe which cannot be burgled.

Ban and Ginji quickly agree to the client's job since they believe that it will be quite easy to retrieve the steel. However, on reaching the plant, they realize that it is heavily guarded and protected by sophisticated security systems, making their mission very difficult to accomplish.

Ginji suggests that they use force to overcome the security personnel guarding the steel, but Ban knows that they cannot afford to be discovered, as the risk of being apprehended could jeopardize their reputation as "GetBackers".

As they brainstorm over what to do next, another client approaches them with a mission in exchange for giving them information about the people they are up against. This client is a former plant engineer who claims he could not bear the faulty working conditions in the plant and had to leave.

The engineer divulges that the plant is now manufacturing weapons-grade steel, in breach of safety regulations and ethics. The engineer tells them about a group of activists trying to stop the production of the steel, but they had been apprehended, and he is concerned about their welfare.

Ban and Ginji are empathetic to the cause and decide to include the rescue of the activists in their job. They, therefore, split up to handle the two tasks.

Ban approaches the steel room with ease, but he is soon caught in a trap as the room's walls seal up, and gas begins to fill the space. Ban summons his alter ego, the "Evil Eye", which enables him to see through solid objects and break them down with his vision.

The Evil Eye is highly effective in smashing the walls, and Ban grabs the steel before leaving the room. Meanwhile, Ginji devises a plan to rescue the captive activists by masquerading as a new employee.

He infiltrates the factory and comes across one of the activists, but their reunion is cut short as a group of security personnel approach them. Ginji is forced to fight them off to escape with the activist.

The episode ends as the GetBackers meet up with their clients separately and hand over the steel and the rescued activists. The clients are delighted and offer a higher payment than agreed upon. However, a mysterious figure who had been keeping a watchful eye over them during the mission is not pleased with their success.
