Diego is back exploring and embarking on another adventure in the second season of Go, Diego, Go! In this 19th episode, titled "African Safari Part 1," our young animal rescuer is off on a safari in Africa. The half-hour episode is the first of two parts, as Diego makes his way through the beautiful African landscape.
Diego, with his trusty companion Baby Jaguar, is travelling on his safari vehicle through the African savannah. His mission is to find the perfect spot for a photo safari for his friends, who are coming to visit. As he travels, he comes across many different animals that he has never seen before.
As Diego and Baby Jaguar move along, they soon come across a group of elephants, who are happily playing in a small pond. Diego stops his vehicle to observe these incredible animals and take some pictures for his photo safari. But while Diego is busy clicking, he notices that one of the elephants seems to be in trouble. A baby elephant has gotten separated from the herd and is stuck in the mud!
Diego immediately jumps into action, instructing Baby Jaguar to stay in the vehicle and look after the rest of the herd, while he goes out to rescue the trapped baby elephant. Using his trusty jungle rope, Diego makes his way over to the baby elephant, who is too scared and weak to move. Diego knows he must act quickly, as the baby elephant's mother and the rest of the herd are starting to get anxious.
Diego carefully ties the rope around the baby elephant and gently pulls him out of the mud. The baby elephant is so thankful and relieved to be free that he gives Diego a big wet kiss on the cheek! Relieved that the baby elephant is safe, Diego returns him to his mother and the rest of the herd.
As Diego continues his journey through the savannah, he comes across more new and exciting animals, such as giraffes, zebras, and even hyenas! But Diego is hungry and tired, so he decides to stop for the day and set up his camp. Baby Jaguar helps by setting up the tent and gathering some firewood.
As they sit by the campfire enjoying some dinner, Diego realizes that he is missing something very important- his camera! He had left it behind when rescuing the baby elephant earlier in the day. It's getting dark, and Diego knows he has to go back and get his camera before it's too late. Baby Jaguar insists on coming along to help, so Diego agrees.
Together, they retrace their steps back to the pond where the baby elephant was stuck in the mud. Just as they reach the pond, they hear a loud growling noise. It's a pack of hungry hyenas, who are looking for their next meal. Diego and Baby Jaguar have to act fast to get to the camera before the hyenas do!
Can Diego and Baby Jaguar grab the camera and make it back to camp before the hyenas get to them? You'll have to watch the episode to find out!
"African Safari Part 1" is an exciting and educational episode of Go, Diego, Go! that not only teaches kids about different animals, but also about the importance of helping those in need and working together as a team to overcome challenges.
