Ep 5. Episode 5

In episode 5 of Gu Family Book season 1, we see Kang-chi being faced with yet another challenge. He is approached by a group of merchants who ask for his help in retrieving their stolen goods. These merchants are in debt and the stolen goods are their only chance of repaying their debts and sustaining their livelihoods.

Kang-chi, being the kind-hearted soul that he is, agrees to help the merchants. He sets out to retrieve the stolen goods, accompanied by Yeo-wool, his love interest, and Gon, his friend. As they get closer to the location of the stolen goods, they run into some trouble; they are attacked by a group of thieves who are guarding the stolen goods.

In the ensuing fight, Yeo-wool showcases her excellent martial arts skills, but she is outnumbered. Just when things seem dire, Kang-chi unleashes his inner beast and uses his supernatural strength to fight off the thieves. He is able to retrieve the stolen goods and return them to the grateful merchants.

As Kang-chi, Yeo-wool, and Gon are making their way back home, they are ambushed by some unknown assailants. It is then that they discover that the people who stole the merchants' goods were sent by the villainous Jo Gwan-woong, who is determined to track down Kang-chi and use him for his own evil purposes. Jo Gwan-woong's men kidnap Yeo-wool and threaten to harm her if Kang-chi does not surrender himself.

Kang-chi is left with a difficult decision; he can either surrender himself and risk being exploited by Jo Gwan-woong, or he can attempt to rescue Yeo-wool and face the wrath of Jo Gwan-woong's powerful army.

Meanwhile, back at the Hundred Year Inn, Chung-jo, a noblewoman who is in love with Kang-chi's human form, becomes jealous of Yeo-wool and her relationship with Kang-chi. She starts plotting to get rid of Yeo-wool, but her plans are discovered by her father, Tae-seo. Tae-seo warns Chung-jo that jealousy will lead her down a dark path and that she must learn to control her emotions.

As the episode comes to an end, Kang-chi makes the bold decision to rescue Yeo-wool. He sets out with Gon to find her and take on Jo Gwan-woong's forces. However, as they make their way closer to the enemy's lair, they realize that they are severely outnumbered and outmatched.

Episode 5 ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the continuation of Kang-chi's journey and the fate of Yeo-wool and the other characters. As always, the show delivers a mix of action, romance, and suspense, making for a thrilling and engaging episode.
