Lucy's Impossible Mission is the sixth episode of the first season of the American sitcom Here's Lucy. The show features Lucille Ball, playing Lucy Carter, a widow who lives in Los Angeles with her teenage children, Kim and Craig. Lucy works for her brother-in-law, Harry, who owns a travel agency.

In this episode, Lucy's friend, Gwen, comes to her for help. Gwen's son, Timmy, wants to be a spy when he grows up, so Gwen arranges for him to have a practice mission. Lucy is recruited to play the part of a secret agent who needs Timmy's help to retrieve important documents from a hotel room. However, things quickly spiral out of control when Lucy accidentally gets locked inside the hotel room with the documents, and she must find a way to escape before the actual spy arrives.

The episode begins with Lucy arriving at the office and discussing a potential client with Harry. Gwen then comes to the office and tells Lucy about Timmy's dream of being a spy. Lucy, eager to help, agrees to be part of Gwen's plan for Timmy's practice mission. Gwen hands Lucy a manila envelope containing money, passport, and a fake identity card, and asks her to play the part of a spy who needs Timmy's help. Lucy is hesitant at first but eventually agrees to help.

At the hotel, Lucy and Timmy are instructed to retrieve a document from a specific room. Lucy tries to open the room with a random key but realizes that it is not the correct room. When she goes back to find Timmy, the door locks, and she gets stuck inside the room. Meanwhile, the real spy arrives at the hotel, and Timmy is forced to wait outside the room. The spy, who wants the document for himself, tries to coax Timmy into giving it to him. However, Timmy holds his ground and refuses to hand over the documents.

Meanwhile, Lucy is trying everything to get out of the locked room. She throws various objects at the window, including a vase, a lamp, and a chair, but nothing works. Lucy even decides to create a rope with bed sheets to get out of the window, but the sheets tear apart.

Back outside, the spy, frustrated with Timmy's refusal to give up the documents, decides to take him hostage. To make matters worse, Lucy's fake ID is found by the cleaning staff, and they alert the hotel security. Lucy, still trapped inside the room, sees the panic outside and realizes that things are not going as planned.

Enter Harry, who is also involved in the mission. He arrives at the hotel disguised as a chef, and he tries to create a distraction by ordering food to the room. Harry manages to create a commotion, which helps Timmy escape the clutch of the spy. Meanwhile, Lucy has a moment of clarity and realizes that the hotel staff has a master key. She manages to signal to them, and they eventually help her escape.

With the mission finally over, Lucy and Timmy return to Gwen, who praises her for handling such a difficult scenario. Harry, however, is not too happy with the whole situation and berates Lucy for getting herself into trouble. Nevertheless, the episode ends on a light note, with Lucy and Harry joking about the potential danger of future missions.

In conclusion, Here's Lucy's season 1, episode 6, Lucy's Impossible Mission is a hilarious and entertaining episode that showcases Lucille Ball's comic genius. The episode is a classic spy-thriller trope, turned on its head with Lucy's character getting into all sorts of trouble.
