Isle Saint Marie, a coral-ringed island off the coast of Madagascar, was a safe outpost for the world's most successful and ruthless 18th century pirates to attack ships in the busy shipping lanes of the Indian Ocean. We'll follow underwater explorer Barry Clifford as he reveals the secrets and treasures on and off Isle Saint Marie. Back in 2001, Clifford made only one dive there and found Captain Kidd's flagship Adventure Galle as well as ten other sunken pirate ships. He recovered 11 gold coins in that one dive but had to stop because the Madagascar government was near collapse. What he found remains untouched. And there are promises of up to 10 billion dollars in the "stolen" goods these pirate ship remains could hold. Today, with all permits in place, Clifford is ready to go on a second expedition. And not only will he be diving for treasures, but he'll also be exploring the mysteries of this island and its labyrinth of secret underwater tunnels.
