Jazz is faced with one of her biggest challenges yet when a member of her own family becomes her enemy in the season 5 finale of I Am Jazz. In the previous episode, Jazz opened up about her feelings of anxiety and depression and expressed how she felt like she was on the verge of a breakdown. This episode picks up where that left off, with Jazz trying to deal with the stress of her upcoming surgery while also trying to navigate a tense family dynamic.

Jazz's mother, Jeanette, has been a vocal supporter of her daughter's transition since day one. However, in recent episodes, Jazz has started to question whether her mother's support comes with strings attached. Jeanette has made it clear that she wants Jazz to be a success in life, which has led to moments of conflict between them. In this episode, that conflict comes to a head as Jazz feels like her mother is putting too much pressure on her.

Meanwhile, Jazz's grandmother, Jacky, has always been supportive of Jazz's transition, but she has struggled to understand the complexities of it. Jazz has tried to educate her grandmother about what it means to be transgender, but there are still moments where Jacky says or does things that make Jazz feel invalidated. In this episode, Jazz and Jacky have a heart-to-heart conversation as Jazz tries to help her grandmother understand her feelings.

The tension in the family is further compounded by the fact that Jazz's surgery is rapidly approaching. Jeanette is understandably anxious about her daughter undergoing such a major procedure, and she is struggling to keep her emotions in check. This leads to moments of conflict between her and Jazz, as Jazz feels like her mother is not giving her the support she needs.

Throughout the episode, Jazz also continues to struggle with her own feelings of anxiety and depression. She confides in her friends about her fears and worries, and they offer her support and advice. Jazz also meets with her therapist, who helps her work through some of her emotions and gives her tools to cope with her anxiety.

Despite the challenges she faces, Jazz remains determined to stay true to herself and to complete her transition. She finds comfort in her friendships and in the support of her father, Greg, and her brothers. Ultimately, the episode ends on a hopeful note as Jazz reflects on the progress she has made and looks forward to a bright future.

As with previous episodes of I Am Jazz, "Enemy in the Family" offers a candid look into the struggles and triumphs of a transgender teenager. It highlights the complexities of family relationships and the challenges that come with transitioning, but it also shows the strength and resilience of Jazz and those who support her. Overall, it's a moving and powerful finale to an already inspiring season.
