Inu X Boku Secret Service season 1 episode 7, Their Night Alone, takes a more melancholic turn than the preceding episodes. While the earlier ones focused on the comedic and lighter aspect of the anime, this particular episode delves into the more personal and emotional stories of the main characters.

The story begins with Ririchiyo playing a game with her aide, Watanuki, on her mobile phone. As they progress through the game, they find out that they have to spend the night in the Ayakashi Mansion alone due to an annual event. Even though the event may seem like a small inconvenience to others, the fact that Ririchiyo and Watanuki are alone together in the mansion brings up unresolved feelings between them.

As Ririchiyo struggles to keep her emotions in check, Watanuki becomes more and more agitated, revealing his feelings to Ririchiyo. He tells her that he has always been in love with her, but it is his duty to serve her and protect her. However, Ririchiyo dismisses his confession and tells him that she can never love him because of their status differences and their personal beliefs. Frustrated and hurt by her words, Watanuki loses his composure and storms out of the room, leaving Ririchiyo alone.

As the night progresses, Ririchiyo is left to ponder over her rejection of Watanuki's love and her own feelings. She realizes that she is not as immune to emotions as she previously believed, and that she needs to address the situation with Watanuki. She finds him outside in the gardens, and after a heartfelt conversation, the two reconcile and fall asleep together, finally resolving the tension between them.

Apart from the central love story between Ririchiyo and Watanuki, Their Night Alone also introduces Masaki, a new character who further adds depth to the story. Masaki is a mysterious and eccentric individual who is gifted in exorcising ayakashi. His appearance in the mansion raises suspicions among the residents and causes tensions to run high. Throughout the episode, Masaki's interactions with the other characters create an overarching sense of discomfort which culminates in the cliffhanger ending, setting up for future episodes.

Overall, Inu X Boku Secret Service season 1 episode 7, Their Night Alone, does an excellent job of delving into the personal and emotional lives of the main characters. The episode is engaging from start to finish, with the focus on character building rather than plot progression, making it a refreshing change of pace from the preceding episodes. Furthermore, the introduction of Masaki adds a new layer to the already complex story, setting up the final episodes of the season.
