Inuyasha Eng Dub Season 1 Episode 16 Delinquent Monk With the Right Hand Wind Tunnel, Miroku
- February 19, 2001
Miroku, a roguish monk with a wind tunnel in the palm of his hand, appears in the sixteenth episode of Inuyasha's first season, "Delinquent Monk With the Right Hand Wind Tunnel, Miroku." He is initially depicted as a flirtatious con artist, who uses his handsome appearance and charming demeanor to trick women out of their money. However, his past catches up with him when he is confronted by his former fiancée, a demon slayer named Sango.
The episode begins with Inuyasha and his companions, Kagome and Shippo, encountering Miroku in a small village. Miroku, who is on the run from his creditors, begs Inuyasha to let him join their group. Inuyasha reluctantly agrees, but he is immediately suspicious of Miroku's true intentions. Kagome, on the other hand, is intrigued by Miroku's good looks, and she starts to develop a crush on him.
As they travel together, Miroku's reputation as a womanizer precedes him, and he has a habit of wandering off on his own without telling anyone where he's going. Inuyasha confronts Miroku about his selfish behavior, but Miroku brushes him off, insisting that he is the only one who can defeat the demon that he is after.
Meanwhile, Sango, a skilled demon slayer, arrives in the village, looking for Miroku. She is furious with him for abandoning her at their wedding, as well as for stealing her family's sacred weapon, the Hiraikotsu. Sango is determined to kill Miroku for his betrayal, but Kagome and Shippo convince her to hear Miroku's side of the story first.
Miroku reveals that he has been cursed by a powerful demon, who has given him the wind tunnel in his hand. The wind tunnel is constantly growing larger, and if Miroku doesn't find a way to stop it, it will eventually consume him and everything around him. Miroku explains that he left Sango to spare her from the curse, but he never stopped loving her. Sango is moved by Miroku's words, and she forgives him.
Together, the group sets out to defeat the demon that is responsible for Miroku's curse. They encounter many obstacles along the way, including a band of ruthless thieves and a group of giant demon cats. However, Miroku's wind tunnel proves to be a valuable asset in their battles, sucking up everything in its path.
In the end, the group reaches the demon's lair, and Miroku confronts the demon head-on. With the help of his friends, Miroku is able to finally defeat the demon and break the curse that has plagued him for so long. Sango embraces Miroku, and they share a tender moment of reconciliation.
The episode ends with the group continuing on their journey, with Miroku as a valuable member of their team. Kagome, however, is heartbroken that her crush on Miroku will never be reciprocated, as he only has eyes for Sango. The episode leaves viewers eager to see what adventures and battles the group will face next.
