Inuyasha Eng Dub Season 1 Episode 23 Kagome's Voice and Kikyo's Kiss

Kagome is feeling down about not being able to sense the Shikon Jewel shards as well as Inuyasha and the rest of the group. When the group is confronted by an old man possessed by a demon, Kagome tries to use her spiritual powers to subdue the demon, but fails. Meanwhile, Kikyo, a priestess who was formerly Inuyasha's lover and who died 50 years prior, is resurrected by Naraku, a powerful demon. Kikyo steals Kagome's voice and uses it to lure Inuyasha into a trap. When Inuyasha shows up, Kikyo attempts to attack him, but he recognizes the voice as Kagome's and refuses to harm her. Kikyo then kisses Inuyasha and poisons him with a spell that makes it difficult for him to breathe. With the help of Kagome's friends, they are able to find an antidote for the poison. Kikyo then reveals her true identity to Kagome and tells her that she plans to use the Shikon Jewel shards to become a normal human and live a peaceful life away from the demons. The episode ends with Kikyo and Inuyasha parting ways, as Kagome's feelings for Inuyasha begin to grow stronger.
