Invasion is a television show that aired on ABC for one season between 2005 and 2006. It is a science fiction drama, created by Shaun Cassidy that follows the events of an alien invasion on Earth. The show is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Shaun Cassidy Productions. Each episode is around 40 minutes long, and the show ran for 22 episodes before being cancelled. The show stars William Fichtner and Eddie Cibrian. The supporting cast consists of Kari Matchett, Lisa Sheridan, Tyler Labine, Alexis Dziena, Evan Peters, and Ariel Gade. The opening moments of the show happens to be a hurricane that takes place in Florida. In the aftermath of this devastating storm, unknown creatures come out of the water and start entering the bodies of local citizens. The people first merge with the creature, but then they end up being completely replaced. When the creatures first appear, there are witnesses that see lights in the water. This marks the first incident of the invasion. From here, the sheriff, played by William Fichtner must cut off the area so that no other incidents like this can take place. Since a hurricane just took place, the town has to work to get back on its feet. Additionally, the sheriff begins to realize that the invasion was not halted. More and more people are becoming infected by these mysterious creatures. When a person's body is invaded they display physical evidence that gives it away that something is wrong with them. Additionally, their friends and family will notice that their behavior is changed. This causes tensions to rise and people begin to wonder what exactly is going on. Questions must be answered; the citizens demand to know whether or not the military is covering something up. The show revolves around the distrust a community will display as they try to come back from a terrible disaster.
