Ep 9. The Sellun Corridor Burns

After the disastrous fight with the enemy in the previous episode, the Allied army retreats to a safer zone, hoping to avoid further losses. Meanwhile, Finé, the Archduke of Elystadt, resumes her diplomatic efforts to win over neighbouring countries to their cause.

In this episode, Finé and her advisors are presented with an opportunity to strike a deal with the Republic of Rylant, which is currently under attack by the Germanian army. The deal involves providing the Rylant army with much-needed supplies in exchange for their support in the war against Germania.

However, the plan is jeopardized when the Germanian army discovers the Sellun Corridor, a secret route that the Elystadt army uses to transport supplies, and sets it on fire. With the corridor now unusable, the Elystadt army has to find an alternate route to get the supplies to Rylant before it's too late.

This sets off a chain of events that leads to the introduction of a new character, Belkman, a captain in the Imperial Germanian Air Force who is tasked with intercepting the Elystadt supply planes. Belkman is a skilled fighter pilot and is depicted as a cunning adversary who is determined to fulfil his mission.

As the Elystadt army works to find a new route and deal with the Germanian threat, Izetta, the last witch and Finé's close friend, is also dealing with her own personal struggle. In the previous episode, she had used her magic to the point of exhaustion, putting her life in danger. She is now facing her own mortality, and the reality of what it means to be the last witch.

This episode explores the theme of sacrifice, as the characters are forced to make difficult choices for the greater good. There are moments of intense action, as the Elystadt army and the Germanian air force engage in fierce battles, and moments of emotional intensity, particularly in Izetta's storyline.

Overall, this episode does an excellent job of advancing the plot, introducing new characters, and providing a satisfying blend of action and emotional depth. Moreover, the development of Izetta's character adds another layer of complexity to the show, making it even more engaging.
