In JAG season 6 episode 24, "Adrift (1)," the audience is introduced to a seemingly average day at sea for the ship USS Seahawk. However, things take a dramatic turn when a storm of immense magnitude hits the vessel, leaving it severely damaged and the crew fighting to stay alive.

As they struggle to maintain order and cope with injuries sustained during the storm, the crew receives a distress signal from a nearby fishing vessel that has also been caught in the storm. Commander Harmon Rabb Jr. (David James Elliott) takes charge of the rescue mission and leads a team to help the fishing vessel's crew. Despite the rough conditions, they manage to rescue all of the fishermen.

However, as the Seahawk continues to battle the storm, it starts to become apparent that they are in a dire situation. The ship's engines are damaged, leaving them adrift in the open ocean. As the crew struggles to keep the ship afloat, tensions rise and personal conflicts come to the surface.

Meanwhile, Junior Leyland (Scott Lawrence) is dealing with a personal crisis of his own. He receives news that his wife has gone into labor and is unable to be by her side due to the ship’s situation. As he works to maintain his composure and focus on the task at hand, his fellow crew members offer words of encouragement and support.

As the episode comes to a close, the crew of the Seahawk faces the harsh reality that they may not survive the storm. With no rescue in sight, they must pull together and find a way to survive against all odds.
