Ep 103 - Theseus & The Minotaur: In this episode of Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Greek Myths, we follow the legendary hero Theseus on his journey to slay the monstrous Minotaur. The story begins with Theseus arriving in Athens, where he learns of the cruel tribute demanded by King Minos of Crete: seven Athenian men and seven Athenian women are to be sacrificed every nine years to the Minotaur, a fearsome creature with the body of a man and the head of a bull.

Determined to put an end to this gruesome tradition, Theseus volunteers to be one of the Athenian tributes and sails to Crete with the rest of the doomed youth. Upon arriving, he catches the eye of Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos, who falls in love with him and offers to help him slay the Minotaur.

With Ariadne's guidance, Theseus is able to navigate the labyrinth where the Minotaur is kept and confront the beast in a fierce battle. In the end, Theseus emerges victorious and returns to Athens with the other tributes, where he is heralded as a hero.

However, the story doesn't end there. Theseus's victory over the Minotaur is just the beginning of his adventures, as he must now navigate the treacherous politics of Athens and contend with the jealousy and anger of those who oppose him. He also faces a new challenge in the form of his own father, King Aegeus, who mistakenly believes that Theseus has perished in the labyrinth and tries to take his own life.

With its vivid characters, thrilling action, and timeless themes of heroism and courage, this episode of Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Greek Myths is a must-watch for anyone who loves classic storytelling and epic adventure.
