Judge Judy Season 17 Episode 176 Sold a Sick Puppy?; No Friend of Mine

  • March 19, 2013

In Judge Judy season 17 episode 176 titled "Sold a Sick Puppy?; No Friend of Mine," the no-nonsense, no-filter Judge Judith Sheindlin presides over two completely different cases that deal with claims of betrayal and deceit.

In the first case, a woman named Lila accuses a pet store employee of knowingly selling her a sick puppy. According to Lila, she noticed that the puppy was lethargic and exhibiting concerning symptoms just a few hours after purchasing him from the store. Although she took the puppy to the vet and followed all recommended procedures, he sadly passed away a few weeks later.

Lila is seeking reimbursement for all the expenses she incurred to try and save the puppy, as well as compensation for the emotional distress she experienced due to the loss of her beloved pet. The pet store employee, however, argues that the puppy was healthy when it was sold to Lila and suggests that the dog's death could have been caused by any number of things.

Judge Judy listens to both sides of the argument and quickly makes up her mind about who is responsible for the sick puppy. She does not hold back in delivering a stern and uncompromising verdict that leaves neither Lila nor the pet store employee pleased.

In the second case, two former friends, Kisha and LaQwitta, take each other to court over a missing car. Kisha lent her car to LaQwitta for one day, but LaQwitta failed to return it on time and did not answer any of Kisha's calls or texts. When Kisha finally got in touch with LaQwitta, she was told that the car had been stolen.

However, Kisha claims that surveillance footage shows LaQwitta driving her car during the time she claimed it had been stolen, and even parking it in front of her own house. Kisha is seeking compensation for the value of her car, as well as punitive damages for LaQwitta's deceptive behavior.

Judge Judy must determine whether LaQwitta is telling the truth about the theft of the car or if Kisha's evidence of her driving it herself holds up. As with the previous case, Judge Judy delivers a scathing judgment that leaves one of the women in tears and the other feeling vindicated.

Throughout both cases, Judge Judy makes her signature sharp comments and does not hold back when it comes to calling out any lies or deceitful behavior. As always, she is direct and to the point in getting to the heart of each case and ensuring that justice is served.
