Judge Judy Season 18 Episode 28 Revengeful Roommates; Divorce Disaster

  • October 2, 2013

In this episode of Judge Judy, titled "Revengeful Roommates; Divorce Disaster," two different cases come before the no-nonsense judge for resolution.

First up are two former roommates who are seeking damages for various acts of revenge committed against each other. The first plaintiff claims that the defendant stole her car after she moved out of their shared apartment, then vandalized it and left it abandoned on the side of the road. She is suing for the cost of repairs, as well as emotional distress caused by the incident. The defendant counters that she was simply reclaiming money that was owed to her by the plaintiff, and that she had no intention of causing any harm to the car. She argues that the plaintiff is exaggerating the damage and is simply seeking to punish her for their prior disagreements.

The second plaintiff alleges that the defendant took revenge on her in a more insidious way - by refusing to pay her portion of the rent after they both moved out of the apartment they shared. The plaintiff claims that she ended up having to pay for multiple months of rent out of her own pocket, causing severe financial hardship. The defendant counters that the plaintiff was the one who caused the original lease to be broken by moving out early, and that any subsequent financial costs were her own fault.

As Judge Judy listens to the testimony of both parties, she tries to get to the bottom of each person's motivations and actions. She doesn't hesitate to use her trademark wit and sarcasm to cut through the nonsense, and she is quick to shut down any attempts at deflection or misdirection.

The second case of the episode involves a couple who are seeking a divorce after several years of marriage. They appear before Judge Judy to try to settle their financial affairs, including dividing up property and deciding on spousal support.

The plaintiff believes that she is entitled to a larger share of the couple's assets, as she alleges that the defendant was emotionally and financially abusive during their marriage. She recounts instances of being forced to give up her career and rely solely on the defendant's income, as well as being prevented from making financial decisions on her own. The defendant denies these claims and insists that he has always been supportive and fair in their financial dealings.

Judge Judy listens carefully to both sides, examining the evidence presented and asking probing questions. She works to determine a fair and equitable division of assets, as well as a spousal support agreement that takes into account the needs and abilities of both parties.

Throughout the episode, Judge Judy remains focused and unflappable, offering her characteristic brand of tough love to each of the participants. She is quick to call out any dishonesty or manipulation, but also shows compassion for those who have been wronged. By the end of the episode, she has successfully resolved both cases and provided a sense of closure and justice for all involved.
