- September 17, 2014
In this episode of Judge Judy, entitled "Transient Parenting?; Good Deed Gone Wrong," the cases before Judge Judy involve several parties at odds over disputes ranging from parenting rights and responsibilities to failed business agreements and stolen property.
The first case revolves around a couple who claims to have taken in a homeless woman and her young son, only to later discover that the woman was still married and had been lying about her situation. The couple claims that they went above and beyond to help the woman and her child, providing them with a place to stay and basic necessities, but that the woman eventually took advantage of their kindness and refused to leave their home. The woman, on the other hand, alleges that the couple promised to help her and her son get back on their feet, but that they ultimately kicked her out on the street and kept her belongings.
The second case involves two former roommates who are now at odds over a failed business deal. One of the roommates claims that they worked together to launch a cleaning service, but that the other roommate ultimately backed out and left them with all of the expenses and debt. The second roommate, however, alleges that they were never fully committed to the business and that the first roommate is now trying to bully them into paying for everything.
The third and final case centers around an alleged theft of a gaming system and other electronics. The plaintiff claims that they left their belongings at a friend's house, only to later discover that the friend had stolen them and sold them online. The defendant, however, denies any involvement in the theft and claims that they were not even present when the items went missing.
As always, Judge Judy brings her signature no-nonsense approach to each case, cutting through the clutter of emotional pleas and half-truths to get to the heart of the matter. Throughout the episode, she offers her insightful and often blunt commentary on each dispute, revealing the underlying motivations and causes of each party's actions and decisions. By the end of the episode, she delivers her ruling in each case, providing a clear and decisive resolution to the conflicts at hand.
