In the season 2 episode 21 of Just Shoot Me, entitled Amblushed, Nina's boyfriend, an attractive antique dealer named Frank, has returned from a trip to Paris with an engagement ring in hand. However, when Frank proposes to Nina, she is unable to properly answer due to her fear of commitment. Jack, sensing Nina's distress, assigns her to cover a romantic photo shoot between two models for the upcoming issue of Blush magazine.
Meanwhile, Maya, who has been feeling uninspired and creatively stagnant, receives a special assignment from Elliot. She is tasked with covering a shoot for a sportswear company in which the models are to be covered in mud. Maya is initially hesitant, but quickly becomes invested in the shoot when she realizes the potential to create a groundbreaking photo spread.
Back at the romantic photo shoot, Nina finds herself struggling to capture genuine emotion between the models, ultimately leading to a breakdown on set. However, with some friendly encouragement from Finch, she regains her composure and successfully completes the assignment.
As Maya's mud-covered model shoot comes to a close, she receives a surprise when Elliot informs her that her stunning photographs have landed her a promotion to senior editor at the magazine. Ecstatic at the news, Maya shares her excitement with the rest of the Blush team, prompting Jack to jokingly remark that they'll miss her when she becomes 'too big for their tiny little magazine.'
The episode concludes with Nina facing her fears of commitment and accepting Frank's proposal, much to the delight of the Blush staff.
